Lhabab Duchen - Three-Year Retreats Commence (All day)
Lama Norlha Rinpoche and the KTC Sangha will perform the traditional ceremonies and procession for guiding the new retreatants into the retreats. This usually takes place in the late afternoon. It is considered extremely auspicious to accompany the retreatants as they are inaugurated into the three-year retreat. Attending the ceremonies accumulates great merit, makes a strong karmic connection to the Dharma and creates the conditions for participating in a retreat in this or future lives.
9:00 am | Sang, Morning Fire Offering Ceremony
Sang is a special morning purification fire ceremony. It is an offering to all worldly gods and the 4 guests: Buddhas & Bodhisattvas; Protectors; sentient beings; and those with whom we have karmic debts. This practice pacifies war, encourages peace and averts sickness.
There is no charge for attending the chanting but reservations are required one week in advance if you plan to join us for meals and/or need overnight accommodations. Please see General Information about Events at KTC for details. Please send an email to reservations@kagyu.com if you are joining us for meals only.
