Lama Samten Drolma

  1. Samten completed the traditional three-year retreat under the guidance of Lama Norlha Rinpoche in 2011. At Rinpoche's request, she helped establish our affiliated retreat center in the Smoky Mountains of TN (www.mocd.org) and also teaches at dharma centers in Asheville and Greensboro, NC as well as Washington, DC (www.kagyudc.org). She is currently a resident teacher at Wonderwell Mountain Refuge.

Join us for a retreat in which we can awaken to and nurture our qualities of wisdom, compassion, and loving kindness.

Tara the Liberator, an archetype throughout many Buddhist lineages and particularly cherished within Tibetan Tantra, is acknowledged for her swift activity to overcome obstacles. As a mirror into aspects we all have the potential to embody, the practice of Tara is a powerful tool to cultivate courage, insight, and the heart of awakening.

In this weekend retreat, Lama Samten Drolma will convey the tradition and lineage of Tara as well as provide practical guidance for how to integrate her qualities into our everyday lives.
